2025 Toronto Open Championship

Where St. Casimir’s Parish Hall, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto
When August 30 – Sept. 1, 2025.
Format Six-round Swiss tournament. Rounds daily at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Time Control 90m + 30s increment from move 1.
Sections Crown, U2200, U1900, U1600, U1300. Section will be determined by highest rating among CFC, FQE, USCF, FIDE and similar rating bodies. Play up for players within 100 points of next section, for a $20 play-up fee.
Rating All sections CFC-rated, Crown, U2200 and U1900 FIDE-rated.
Byes Two half-point byes may be given in the first four rounds. Other byes are zero-point.
CFC Current CFC membership, or payment for CFC tournament rating, is required.
Cost $110 regular admission. $20 discount for Early Bird, ACC member, Junior (U16) or Senior (60+), to a maximum discount of $40. GM/WGM/IM/WIM free entry.  Discounted ACC membership available with purchase, equivalent to $45 off!
Prize Fund  $7000 prize fund based on 250 entrants. $1500 guaranteed for first place. Prizes for top three players, top woman, top junior, top senior, and top ACC member in each section. Prizes will not be stacked.
Amenities  All equipment provided. Skittles room and waiting area. Water, coffee and tea provided. Many quality cafés and restaurants nearby.
