This year had seven Grand Prix Events which resulted in a larger Grand
Prix Prize Fund and more CFC rated games. Average attendance per event
declined 25% but 20% more players participated! It can be argued that
there was a slight increase in the number of hard-core dedicated players
from 15 to 20 or a decrease from 48 to 35. The players who played the most
were rewarDed with prizes, and two-thirds of the leaders played in the last
event. There was also a slight decrease in the percent of players who only
played in one event, but still over 50% of the players. With smaller
turnouts sites like Tartu and Macdedonian may no longer be viable.

Special recognition must go out to Nikolay Noritsyn who played in all
events, winning in 2006 and being a co-winner in 2005. Alexander
Martchenko won a prize in both years while Matthew Ramenaden played in all
events in both years and won a prize this year.

2006 GRAND PRIX FINAL STANDINGS 

The tournament scores in all seven events will be added up, 1 tournament point = 1 Grand Prix point (except for requested byes= 0).
Players must be CFC members.  Five percent of the entry fees goes to these prizes.  Standings as of December 31, 2006
